Jenine Abboushiborn in Detroit, she grew up in the United States and in the Middle East. Of both American and Palestinian descent, she currently lives in Beirut and teaches at the Lebanese American University. She graduated at Columbia and Harvard and taught Comparative Literature and Middle Eastern Studies at NYU. She was recipient of a MacArthur Foundation Grant and she has written for The Times Literary Supplement.
